SWEETHEARTS w/ DJ ICEY, JUSTIN MARTIN AND SOO MUCH MORE!

This is an Epic Portland Party.

-DJ ICEY-
1st PDX ALL AGE SET IN ALMOST 10 YEARS!!!
DJ Icey is here to party in Portland!

Zone Records // FL
www.myspace.com/djicey,
www.pamdjs.com

Born and raised in Florida, DJ Icey has been mesmerized by electronic music ever since hearing the synthesizer breakdown on The Edgar Winter Groups "Frankenstein". "My mom had that album and I would play that middle part over and over wondering how they made that sound, Icey recounts. I was little and thought it was so cool". Rising to worldwide prominence out of the fertile Orlando FLorida electronic music scene which has spawned the likes of AK 1200,Kimball Collins, Jimmy Van M, Chris Fortier, and Baby Anne, Icey cut his teeth at the legendary EDGE nightclub in the mid-90s, and even persuaded The Chemical Brothers to play their first show Stateside there. When The Edge closed in 1996, DJ Icey hit the road and has stayed on it since.

Icey runs two Indie labels dedicated to the Breaks he loves, the Main imprint Zone Records released it's first 12 Inch single in 1994, Energy Tracks Volume 1 quickly followed by the hard to find Encyclopedia Funktanica both of these records gained a cult following worldwide as there was nothing quite like it at the time. Zone Records continues releasing more than a dozen records a year and his second label Tree Records follows very closely behind with slightly more eccentric productions.

Discovered for the punters by BBC Radio 1 DJ and longtime A&R kingpin Pete Tong , Icey became the first American producer to sign to his U.S. ffrr label in 1997 as an artist thanks to Pete and U.S. Honcho Neil Harris, He was the first American DJ to be selected to record a prestigious "Essential Mix" for U.S. Release. With over 200 12 singles under his production belt and 5 cd releases, Icey has SoundScanned over 300,000 CD units in North America alone. Playing 100+ gigs per year, Icey is a touring maniac. But that doesnt keep him out of the studio during the week working on new tracks for his Indie Labels Zone and Tree records, constantly trying to push the envelope to make his fans sweat on the dancefloor.

Through the years Icey has impacted the breaks movement with his hard-hitting and popular mix CD's and with 2007 comes a fresh new mix on Moist Music NYC entitledÖ"Disco Rodeo". It features up-front music from Worldwide artists such as Rogue Element and Tom Real, General Midi, Hook N Sling & Kid Kenobi, Keith Mackenzie, Noisia and Entity, as well as collaborations with Krafty Kuts and Jen Lasher. Many of the tracks are specially re-edited, remixed and diced up to perfection by Icey, exclusive to this Mix. "Disco Rodeo" is sure to delight breaks lovers and Electronic Dance fans around the globe. DJ Icey "Disco Rodeo" drops March 6th, 2007

More recently, he has really come into his own with performances alongside Krafty Kuts, Simply Jeff, Freestylers,The Crystal Method, DJ Icey, Deekline & Wizard, Freestylers, DJ Craze, Sharaz, DJ Baby Anne, DJ Fixx, Freq Nasty, Uberzone, Rennie Pilgrem, DJ Hyper, Reid Speed, Bad Boy Bill, Richard Humpty Vision, Donald Glaude, Dieselboy, Aphrodite, DJ Rap, and @ FUTURE SOUND OF BREAKS V.5.0 with many other top talents within the industry. ================================================== ============================================== As if all this wasnt enough, Paul is also responsible for the success of Red Cube Productions, Portlands most notorious electronic music event production crew. By consistently providing a superior level of talent at a very competitive price, Paul and his partner have earned the unwavering respect of DJs, booking agents, and patrons alike. For more info on the company, check out www.redcubepdx.com ================================================== ============================================== Paul has been very busy since his move to the states. DJ Brad from Moontribe, Drumcell, Solovox & so much more

Main Room SOUND SYSTEM is a Beautiful Beautiful TURBOSOUND FLOODLIGHT System from Mobius Pro Audio............. This system was doing the Moontribe/Droid Events in LA, but is now for this event--

Room 1

Drumcell ---PORTLAND DEBUT----------
(Droid Behavior) (LA)
http://www.droidbehavior.com

Founder of Droid Recordings and co-founder of Droid Behavior, Drumcell has been one of techno's greatest allies in Southern California in recent times. A graduate of the Musician's Institute and a long-time performer at parties in Southern California, Drumcell has been influenced by music from his earliest years. After being exposed to raves in the early 90s, He grew addicted to the sounds of acid house, techno, in its many forms, and industrial.

Associating with the members of Acid Circus to form Droid Behavior as an event production group and record label was the next logical step to raise awareness for techno in the city and to help expose local Artists, established djs, and performers from around the country. Over the last 5 years Drumcell has rocked parties from big to small on a weekly basis in LA as well as gigs all over the U.S alongside such names as Kenny Larkin, john Tejada, Tim Xavier, Dan Bell, Ben Sims, Adam Beyer, Jeff Mills, Speedy J, Ritchie Hawtin, Mathew Dear, etc. and has also released quite a few heavy trax on labels omniscient, remains, heavy Industries, and his own DROID recordings imprint.

DJ Brad
(Moontribe) (LA)
http://www.moontribe.org

A veteran of both the Los Angeles and San Francisco underground rave scenes, DJ Brad has been spinning techno since 1992. His interest in the environment, yoga, and his philosophical nature are conveyed in his musical choices. Over the years Brad has been an integral member of many innovative and successful groups including Moontribe, Tropical, and Mother Earth Sound System. "I have my most profound experiences playing and dancing in the Desert under a full moon." He can energize any crowd with his seamless mixing, whether in a warehouse, intimate club, or out in the open Desert.

DJ Brad defies classification by experimenting with a variety of musical genres. Often cutting between tech-house, electro, techno, and trance, Brad says, "Whatever I play usually has an organic, tribal, funky feel and is a big head trip." In his solo DJ mix CDs, Together, Integration and Ecstaticacti, he blends many intricate soundscapes to create the flow and funkiness that is essential DJ Brad.

DJ Brad's eclectic mixes flow smoothly, taking the listener on a musical journey where time and space seem to disappear. Using the language of music to unite and celebrate the earth and humanity is Brad's goal. "I see people getting involved in this wonderful, beautiful, dynamic culture, they are coming away with an experience they never knew existed before. They discover that people dancing as one, a ritual old as society, is very liberating."

Droid Behavior

Founder of Droid Recordings and co-founder of Droid Behavior, Drumcell has been one of techno's greatest allies in Southern California in recent times.

A graduate of the Musician's Institute and a long-time performer at parties in Southern California, Drumcell has been influenced by music from his earliest years. After being exposed to raves in the early 90s, He grew addicted to the sounds of acid house, techno, in its many forms, and industrial.

It was not long before he was copping turntables to satisfy his vinyl fetish. By the early age of 14 he was playing in various local bands, and through out the rest of his teenage years, cut his teeth-producing hip hop records, dub and various forms of electronic music on Los Angeles based underground labels. By combining his Production, DJing and networking skills and focusing in on his more mature musical tastes he soon established himself as one of the major players in LA's growing techno scene.

Drumcell has been known to keep on the edge of technology and continuously pushing the limits to what the future has to offer. He is always in the process of developing homebrew software as well as cutting edge hardware solution to bring a fresh innovative taste to his production and performances. When performing, Drumcell can be seen blurring the lines between a live and a DJ set by utilizing tools such as FX processors , samplers ,drum machines and other devices to weave a thick blend of acidic techno and aggressive but funky minimalist groove to ensure a frenzy amongst his listeners .

With the state of electronic music in North America leaning towards stripped down funk rather then progressive fluff these days, Droid has become the center for LA techno and Drumcell remains steadfast in his mission of putting this city on the global map.

His interest in the environment, yoga, and his philosophical nature are conveyed in his musical choices. Over the years Brad has been an integral member of many innovative and successful groups including Moontribe, Tropical, and Mother Earth Sound System. In his solo DJ mix CDs, Together, Integration and Ecstaticacti, he blends many intricate soundscapes to create the flow and funkiness that is essential DJ Brad.

This mixing master has held multiple West Coast residencies. DJ Brad describes the rotating outdoor event Moontribe as a "vibrant, magical community that struck a deep chord with me." Brad is featured on Moontribe's compilation Sound Without Walls, voted by Spin Magazine (June 2000) as one of the top eight trance compilations of all time. Brad also raised the temperature at Tropical, one of Los Angeles's premiere underground house or tek-house events during his residency from 1998-2002. DJ Brad can be found on the Tropical House mix tape series volumes two, three, and five with DJ's Jason Blakemore, Mr. Annand, and John Kelley respectively.

Born and raised in Long Beach, California, Brad's earliest musical influence was his father. "He was instrumental in developing my love [of music] through his constant exploration of new music [which] he enthusiastically shared with me." From the age of ten, Brad spent his allowance on records, devouring each new style and sound from rap to new wave, ska, reggae, and early 80's electro dance music. While studying English Literature at UCLA, he paid his college tuition by practicing his newfound scratching and beat matching skills as a mobile DJ. Brad's DJ talent was soon noticed in both Los Angeles and San Francisco where Brad explainsâ "a pivotal moment occurred at Come-Unity (SF) where I watched Jeno spin such a moving set that I was inspired to take my own Djing to a deeper more meaningful level." Along with communicating to people through music, Brad holds an M.A. in Environmental Public Policy and has worked in the environmental activist community for many years.

DJ Brad's eclectic mixes flow smoothly, taking the listener on a musical journey where time and space seem to disappear. Using the language of music to unite and celebrate the earth and humanity is Brad's goal.
